Spencer Lodge

Spectacular in every way; with 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, this beautiful home provides ample space and equal luxury for 8 guests (10 by adding king single rollaways). Boasting great features including four outdoor spaces for the perfect Tarawera holiday: spa pool and sauna on their own elevated decks with panoramic views, walled courtyard with outdoor fireplace. Be amazed with unobstructed views of the lake and mountains directly in front of you literally from one end of the lake to the other. Take in the postcard-panorama of Lake Tarawera and Mount Tarawera. A very private and peaceful retreat, yet still so convenient to the lake, boat ramps, swimming beach. At the bottom of the private driveway you are literally a minutes walk from the lake front and beach at Stoney Point – fantastic for swimming, kayaking, or walking the lake path. This prestigious Spencer Lodge provides the perfect combination of privacy, spectacular scenery and close proximity to the lake and all of its activities. This architecturally designed home has striking angles, impressive heights and beautiful natural elements. With New Zealand artwork and European furniture, Spencer Lodge is uniquely fascinating. The house has feature lighting throughout; a spectacular chandelier at the entrance, luxurious lamps at the bedsides and stunning pendants in the living and dining, including a feature art deco alabaster ceiling light above the imposing oak dining room table. This luxurious and spacious home provides groups ample space to spread out. Practicalities and comforts include free WiFi, under floor heating, luxury linens and full laundry facilities. The home has a multi-room music system including outdoor deck. A mid-stay clean including linen change is provided for bookings of 7 nights or more. Bedroom layout and configuration: All bedrooms are located on the second floor. Master / Bedroom 1: King bed, TV with Freeview, wardrobe, ensuite with shower and bath, views looking across to magnificent ponga forest and the northern end of the lake and bush. Bedroom 2: King bed, wardrobe, TV with freeview, ensuite with shower views looking East across the lake and volcano, you can enjoy magnificent sunrises from the bed or indeed the balcony. Bedroom 3 : King bed, wardrobe, ensuite with shower, views of the gardens and southern end of the lake. Bedroom 4: King bed, wardrobe, ensuite with shower, views of the courtyard and natural bush backdrop. If you have the need for additional beds we can put to king single rollaway beds in the wetroom downstairs which has its own en suite allowing up to 10 guests if required. The large kitchen and breakfast room has 2 ovens, a gas stove and double induction. Microwave, fridge freezer, double drawer dishwasher, bean to cup coffee maker, substantial larder space and lots of kitchen surface space. There is also a butlers pantry. Guests can relax in the luxurious lounge with harris tweed sofas and a double storey feature riverstone fireplace. The adjoining dining room has the feel of old style lodge decadence, somewhere to celebrate and enjoy good company and good food. Lake Tarawera has so much to appeal to so many different people. Mana Sarovar

Excellent accommodation with your own private spa pool to indulge in, a cosy designer glass encased gas fire, all day sun and natural light, and steps at the bottom the garden down to the lake. This is a spacious, modern and stylish home, with multiple living spaces for groups to spread out. The views are outstanding overlooking Lake Tarawera with panoramic mountain vistas. This modern home delights guests with its fabulous location and wonderful amenities. Guests will quickly appreciate staying in such a warm and bright home. The main living level is generously sized and open plan including the kitchen, dining, comfortable seating around the gas fire huge flat screen TV with SKY channels etc,. The kitchen is fully equipped with a massive kitchen island for social gatherings. Floor to ceiling sliding doors run the length of two sides of this open plan area offering the best natural light, fresh air, lake views and flow to the outdoors. There are decks back and front with BBQ, outdoor coffee table and lounge suite and sun umbrella to sit out soak up the 180 degree lake and mountain views. The master bedroom with king bed, lake views and ensuite has sliding doors out to the spa. Down the hall is a private seating area with two couches, this area can be closed off and the couches open up into 2 single beds. At the end of the hall is bedroom 3 with king bed and large bathroom opposite with jacuzzi bath and shower. Bedroom 4, also with king bed and en suite, adjoins the garage. The garage house a washing machine and drier and a couple of kayaks for guest use. Plenty of flat parking area for cars and boat. Close to Stoney Point reserve where there is a boat launch, childrens play area, swimming beach access to lake path and public tennis court. Riverstone

Guests at Riverstone love its unique location. Access to the lake is via a path through the garden leading to the crystal clear waters of Waitangi Bay, Lake Tarawera, right on the doorstep. There are very few houses that can boast this unbelievably convenient & beautiful location at Lake Tarawera. Avoiding the cheek by jowel lake front houses you will be just a 5 min walk away from the water! Soak up the outstanding views of the lake, lush natural bush and volcano. This sprawling single story home featuring natural riverstone exterior has been recently re-furbished. Central heating, underfloor heating and a large wood burning fire. Luxurious new beds, fluffy pillows and duvets and hotel grade cotton linens, ensure you will be sleeping on a cloud. Two bedrooms have super king beds, two have king beds and the fifth bedroom has 2 singles. Two of the bedrooms have ensuites plus there is a shared bathroom with jacuzzi bath and shower and two separate WC’s. The open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area leads to a generous sized, sheltered and sunny patio with BBQ, outdoor dining, extra-large and super comfy new outdoor lounge suite and the icing on the cake ... a spa pool. There is another separate lounge with extensive books and games and sky TV of course. There is a fully equipped laundry in the double garage with washing machine and dryer. The garden shed also has a couple of stand up paddle boards for visitors to enjoy and explore the lake. There is parking for at least 3 cars and a boat outside on the flat driveway providing easy access and avoiding the infamous steep driveways at Tarawera! The closest boat launch ramp is a 2 minute drive away at Boatshed Bay (a deep water ramp). Riverstone is a great place for family and friends to get together for a fantastic holiday or reunion. Tironui

Enjoy the best of both worlds at Tironui (translating to “big view” in maori). A peaceful and private base to enjoy Tarawera and all it has to offer. The elevated location provides the most spectacular views of the still deep waters of Lake Tarawera and magnificent volcano, while being just a few minutes stroll across the road and down the public lake path to the lake. There are 4 floors in this house (with the top floor used for owners storage). Plush carpets, a cosy fireplace in the lounge and heat pumps on each floor adding to the warmth and cosiness of this home - wonderful for winter getaways! Sliding glass doors leading out onto balconies on each level maximise the superb location and the stunning lake and mountain views. The master with Queen bed is on the third floor with adjoining bathroon, the third floor also has a small lounge area with TV, books and games, a great little spot for the youngsters to hang out. Bedroom 2 with Queen bed and Bedroom 3 with 2 sets of bunks are on the second level with a shared bathroom. has an ensuite with shower. The open plan kitchen, dining and lounge are on level one: A fully fitted and well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, gas cooktop. There is bar stool by the kitchen counter and a dining table that seats 8. This open plan area has incredible views providing a fantastic atmosphere to gather with family and friends. The lounge sliders lead out to a large balcony with outdoor dining and a parasol. The spa is accessed from the second floor to the side of the house with fabulous views. Morning, day and night the views are constantly changing; the various plays of light on Mount Tarawera are truly special. Step outside and soak up the fresh lake air; BBQ with a view and enjoy alfresco dining. Be entertained by the various boats zipping around the lake. There is parking for 2 – 3 cars at the property. One thing to note, the steep driveway is not suitable for boats but there is a boat parking service just a short drive down the road at Spencer Lodge for a small daily fee, ideally located between the boat launches at Boatshed Bay and Stoney Point. Lakeside Bach

Located on the lakefront reserve, this charming quintessential kiwi bach with magnificent lake and mountain views. Guests absolutely love this convenient location, literally lawn to lake. A children's playground, public tennis court and the lake pathway are within minutes reach. The property has it’s own private jetty, perfect if your bringing a boat or jet skis, there is also the use of a boatshed nearby at Boatshed Bay by prior arrangement for a small additional fee. There are two bedrooms in the main bach, bedroom one has a king sized bed with a window looking across the reserve with lake and mountain views to wake up to. Bedroom 2 has a king bed and a set of bunks. Bedroom 1 & 2 share a bathroom and separate WC. Bedroom three is separate to the main accommodation and adjoins the garage. It has a queen bed and own en suite. There is an open plan kitchen, dining and living area featuring a cosy fireplace with wood provided. The lounge doors lead out to the front deck with outdoor lounge suite and BBQ. There is a large Spa on a deck at the back of the bach for privacy. The Bach is excellent for groups of friends, families or couples travelling together. Fully equipped kitchen with all the necessary appliances; complete with complimentary tea and coffee amenities, as well as cooking oils and spices. The Terrace

This stunning schist clad family-friendly home ticks the boxes being both lakefront and central along Spencer Road close to the boat launches at Stoney Point and Boatshed Bay, play area and swimming beach. There is a stairway at the end of the garden down to the lake path. The home benefits from its “front row” position along Lake Tarawera. The views are truly magnificent encompassing the iconic lake and Mount Tarawera. There are 3 bedrooms, on the upper level is a large bedroom with a king bed and 2 queen sofa beds plus en suite (great for a family group), on the middle level are 2 more bedrooms, 1 with a queen bed and 1 with 2 singles with a shared bathroom featuring a claw foot bath and shower with separate WC. The layout of bedrooms offers excellent flexibility for different group dynamics. There is extensive multi level decking with Spa pool, BBQ and outdoor wood burning fire, dining and lounging areas. There is a fully equipped kitchen with adjoining dining area and then you drop down a couple of steps into the huge lounge with feature schist stone fire place, a great place to socialise and admire the views. The laundry is in the hallway on the first floor with washing maching and drier. The washing lines are in the garage. There is a lower level to this home but this is used for owner storage. The large parking area with garage space and electric gates offers security and plenty of parking for cars and boat/jet ski’s. The Lakehouse

Located in an elevated position The Lakehouse has magnificent lake and mountain views. Guests absolutely love this convenient location, just a scenic stroll across the road and then turn right along the lake path to the children's playground, swimming beach, boat launches and jetties at Stoney Point Reserve. Beautifully designed with a stylish and sophisticated interior, The Lakehouse is finished to a very high standard with thoughtful extras to ensure you have the best holiday. The house sleeps up to 8 guests. There are 3 bedrooms (king and 2 queens), one downstairs and 2 up in the main house and then another bedroom with queen bed that adjoins the garage (be prepared though, the bathrooms are in the main house so a trip across the car park when needed is required). All the bedrooms enjoy lovely views with the two on the upper level have their own large balconies. There is a spa at the front of the property with outdoor seating area and huge parasol. At the back of the property is another outdoor entertaining area with an outdoor pool table, seating area with another giant parasol, plus an outdoor fireplace with more seating. The rear has views across open paddocks with a backdrop of native ponga forest.
